We’ve been getting a lot of unnecessarily insulting messages, a lot of hate specifically, from a number of users in the past week about the discussion (or lack thereof) that we had about gay relationships in comic books (especially, in this case, Young Justice.) Even though we barely touched the subject, we’re still getting messages about it. A lot of them say that we don’t know what we’re talking about and the likes. It almost seems like it’s from the same group of people. We actually turned off anon a few days ago, however that didn’t stop the messages, in fact some people actually decided to submit their opinions, ones as long as novels. We barely said anything about the issue or what we actually thought about it, so I think that people should not be assuming that we have no idea what we’re talking about simply because we, bottom line, support gay rights. We didn’t even say what our opinions on it was, we replied to the messages according to what we felt was right.

It’s fine if one feels a certain way about the subject and the way we handled it. Everyone has a right to an opinion, but an opinion can hurt. And we felt that the anon was insulting. It was insulting to the LGBT community, to us personally and to a number of other people. Not only did the anon say that one can be influenced to be gay, but also made it sound like it was a negative thing. And that’s why we replied the way we did, with just a tint of snark.

We’ve been pretty chill about the issue, but our inbox keeps getting flooded so we thought it’s about time we did something about it.
